Resuming face to face services
2020-07-24

The past months have been very difficult for everyone, whether you have been a key worker supporting the country whilst your child continued attending school, whether you were working from home and trying to home school your children, whether you have been furloughed or lost your job, whether you or your family gave been ill, whether you have lost loved ones.

The pandemic and subsequent lockdown has had a huge effect on our health, including mental health. At TCC Therapy, I work with children and their families to make sense of the events happening around them and learn how to manage huge emotions. I have seen an increase of visitors to my facebook page in recent weeks demonstrating how many people are searching for ways to help their family through this time, and through the next few weeks when schools in Shropshire will open for the new term, probably with many changes in place.

I will soon be resuming face-to-face services and have very clear systems in place to help keep you and your family as safe as possible whilst interacting with the therapies. Please click here to view my risk assessments which will be updated every 3 weeks or as the guidance changes (nationally or through Play Therapy UK).

Initially I will only be offering outdoor play therapy, as explored in this article by Ali Chown – co-founder of COOPT (The Collaboration of Outdoor Play Therapists). The scientific experts heading up the national guidance have demonstrated that there is a lower risk of spreading Covid 19 when outside and I am fortunate enough to have space to offer this service. I will also be offering clinical supervision outdoors or online.

Please get in touch if you are looking for therapeutic support for a child or young person, or your family, or require clinical supervision for a play based intervention to see what I can offer you at this time. Please contact me via email at tamsyn@tcctherapy.co.uk.
